The Hermans have 5 children and 2 grandchildren. Martha Herman home- schools their three youngest children, and together they serve as teen field trip coordinators for the Agape Home School Group.

Kirby has served as Director of Missions with Bible Lighthouse Mission Inc. in Elizabethton, Tennessee since 1977.
